Resounding Success as Mark PGL Meeting held at new location

June the 2nd saw the 138th meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge held at a much larger venue with nearly 200 Brethren attending.

The hosting of the event at the Newport Holiday Inn enabled 70 more of the  Brethren of our Province  to attend their Provincial Grand Lodge Annual Meeting.

A very enjoyable day was had by all.

The Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Monmouthshire, R.W Bro Derek Thomas is seen here presenting a cheque for £150 to W.Bro Sean Rees, secretary of St George’s craft lodge.

The presentation was made on the evening of the 13th of May 2015 just before the installation of Dyffryn lodge of Royal Ark Mariners.

This cheque is one of eleven that have been presented, one to each of the Masonic Halls in the Province of Monmouthshire, as a gesture of goodwill from the Mark degree. The money can be used for any purpose within the building.

The after proceedings in full swing at   on the evening of the installation meeting at Dyffryn Royal Ark Mariner Lodge.

A happy and memorable evening with W.Bro Mike Bugler staying in the chair for a second year.

The Provincial Grand Master RWBro Derek Thomas seen here presenting a cheque for £500-00 to Mr Lewis Roberts.

Mr Roberts is the Head Coach of Bleanau Gwent Youth Rugby Development Team.  He is in charge of the development of coaching facilities for young players with special needs, and the money will go towards extra facilities and new equipment for the team.

The money raised for this project was made up of contributions from the following Mark Lodges.

Ashlar, Tylery,  Beaufort, together with Mark Provincial Grand Lodge.

 

1st World War Memorial

 

6th May Presentation

The Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Monmouthshire R.W.Bro Derek Thomas seen here presenting a cheque to W.Bro Charles Ferris at Blackwood Masonic Hall on the 6th of May, just prior to the installation meeting of St Margaret’s Mark Lodge 1478. W.Bro Charles is a member of a group who are building a memorial in Newport to the men of the 2nd Monmouthshire Regt who fell in the 1st World War. The money is to be used to prepare the ground for the building of the monument.
