Some years ago , W.Bro Haydn Bishop embarked on project with his wife to fill a wine bottle with five penny pieces as a charity initiative. Sadly his wife, Judy , passed away several years ago but Haydn persevered in her memory until the bottle was filled.
He is seen here presenting the full , sealed bottle along with a bottle of single malt whiskey as a prize for the person who guesses the correct number of five penny pieces contained.
The Provincial Grand Master intends that the bottle will accompany him to each installation between now and the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting to give every brother the opportunity to guess the amount contained therein. The winner and recipient of the fine whiskey will be announced at the Provincial Grand Lodge after proceedings.
Well done W.Bro Haydn.
W.Bro Andrew Hopkins on behalf of Albert Edward Mark Lodge is seen here passing a cheque to the Provincial Grand Master , donating £2000 towards a stroke chair at Llwynypia Hospital, Treorchy.
This will be a second chair donated from the Lodge and Province with the first having been presented last year. A great effort overall . Well done Albert Edward Mark Lodge
On the occasion of the Keystone Mark Lodge 109 installation, the Provincial Grand Master took the opportunity to present his special certificate of merit to W.Bro Alan Anstice. This was given in recognition of W.Bro Alan’s work at Newport Masonic Hall where his skills as a painter and decorator are given unstintingly in the constant renovation and refreshment of the building . This is a service he carries out every year to help keep the hall in tiptop condition. Well done W.Bro Alan Anstice.
The Provincial Grand Master is seen here with W.Bro Derek Giddings presenting a cheque for £1100 to Mrs Dianne Evans and Tony Curtis MBE. Of ” Dreams and Wishes” a charity based in Newport who grant wishes to terminally ill children .

The new Banner was indeed splendid and much admired by those present at the Dedication Ceremony.
Officiated by our PGM, Derek Thomas, the actual ceremony was carried out in Open Lodge thereby allowing non-masons to be present. This included the ladies, who like the Brethren enjoyed this rare and unusual ceremony.
The dedication of the Banner took place on 14th November 2015.
Following the ceremony all were treated to a very enjoyable luncheon prepared and served by the catering team from The Huntsman.
After a very good ceremony conducted by W.Bro Peter Pope RAMGR, the new Commander at The Monmouthshire Installed Commanders is W Bro. Dr. Akrim Baig RAMGR
Pictured here taking charge at the Festive Board, Akrim is a busy man. Not only actively involved in a number of different units he heads up the 2021 Festival being run in the Province of South Wales.

Whilst on a visit to Provincial Mark Grand Lodge of Dorset , the PGM, DPGM and ProvGSec dropped to see V.W.Bro Derek Moxley our most senior DPGM of Monmouthshire. V.W.Bro Derek has lived in Ilchester for the last 35 years but still pays close attention to Provincial affairs. The visitors were treated to a light supper, several …..LARGE…… scotches and the benefit of V.W Bro Derek’s many entertaining recollections of Mark masonry in Monmouthshire. It should be remembered that his father was a master of Tylery Lodge MMM 685 in 1919! At the same time, the PGM presented his Grand Patron’s charity collar. We salute a remarkable man.
W.Bro David Taylor of Torfaen Lodge of Mark Master Masons 796 has been honoured by the lodge membership by being made an honorary member of the lodge.
