What follows is a recent letter from our Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. Derek Thomas
Dear Sir and Brother,
This is to inform you of our intention to form a Mark Internet Lodge within the Province of Monmouthshire under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Mark Masons of England and Wales and
its Districts and Lodges Overseas.
The formation of this new lodge is being overseen by a Steering Committee comprising of WBro’s David Weston, Roy Morris, Tim Huckle and Ken Donaghue.
They are currently engaged in the compilation of the Petitioners List, our intention being to submit the completed document to the secretariat at Mark Masons Hall early in March 2016.
The consecration of the new lodge is scheduled to take place in the Grand Temple at Mark Masons Hall on Saturday 4th June 2016, further details of which will be forthcoming.
Individual brethren may already have been approached regarding any possible interest in joining or attending this new lodge, but I felt that the time was right for a general communication to be circulated
within the Province in order that all of the brethren are fully informed of our intent.
The primary aim of the lodge is to embrace the 21st century and promote the wider use of electronic communications within lodges, also to encourage and promote appropriate structures for the means of electronic communication within Mark Masonry in general.
Initially the lodge will meet twice a year and it is intended that these meetings are held across different Provinces and Districts.
The lodge will act in a similar manner to an Education and Training Lodge dealing with various social media issues such as Email, Facebook, Twitter etc. which impact upon Mark Masonry now and in the future.
I would therefore request all lodge secretaries and scribes to circulate this correspondence to all their respective members as expeditiously as possible.
Should any brother require further information please contact any member of the Steering Committee or the Provincial Executive.
Yours sincerely and fraternally,
RW Bro. Derek Thomas
Provincial Grand Master
